Tags and Metafields

Go to Multi-Location Stock Info → Collections & Metafields (the in-app page is titled "Collections & Metafields"; it also covers the collections features). This section — Sync product data by location — is Plus-plan gated and lets you keep product inventory data synced by location, so you can use it to build collections, filter products, and show availability.

Key Features:

There are three independent sync mechanisms, each with its own Active/Disabled status badge and Resync / Turn on/off buttons:

• Tag products by location: Automatically applies tags to products based on where they're in stock (e.g., available-new-york). These tags can be used for filtering, merchandising, or Smart Collections.
• Sync inventory to metafields: Syncs inventory information into standard metafields for each product, for use in your theme or custom logic.
• Sync inventory to a JSON metafield: Creates a structured metafield containing detailed, location-specific stock data in JSON format. Ideal for advanced theme customization or external integrations.

Sync Options:

Each sync has its own Resync button to manually trigger an update. Resyncs are rate-limited — if you resync too soon, a toast shows how long until you can resync again (e.g., "Tags are being updated. Please wait, you can re-sync after 2 hours and 15 minutes.").
